Technicians at the Porsche of the Prairies are restoring a Porsche Classic 1964 356 C to original specifications for the Porsche Classic Competition.

Here are some pictures of a full booth of Porsche 356 parts. These parts have all the body work completed, primed and painted and are ready for assembly.
The tunnel and floor pans have been welded into the 356.

Floors all squared up and welded into place. This week the tunnel got epoxied from the inside and installed.
And the RH rover inner panel is all installed including the rebuild of all the heater duct tubes.

Our Restoration continues. This week we got some of quarter panel patches fabricated and welded.

We have been hard at work making progress on our Porsche 356 Restoration. This week we got the back half of the body buttoned up.
And fabricated the rear quarter front panel from scratch.

This week we got the whole back half of the body buttoned up. Exhaust cutouts tabbed and metal finished, bumper slots all re-worked, deck lid fit and gapped.

This week we cleaned up all the needed edges, put it back on the rotisserie and re-sand blasted the full body. Now it is ready for seam sealer and topcoats.

This week we completed the body work on the bottomside of the car including the engine bay and trunk floors. We then expoxied the bottom for texture coat and primed the engine bay and trunk floors.

This week the engine bay, trunk and dash got a splash of slate grey colour. We assembled the front suspension to factory detail.

We completed the bodywork on all panels and refined all the gaps.

This week we finished all the bodywork, masked the car and sprayed polysurfacer on the entire body for blocking.

This week some more parts got a splash of black, we masked the body and applied everything in the final primer including doors and bumpers. The car is now ready for final preparation and paint.

5 wet coats of Porsche Slate Grey paint have been applied to the body and the doors. The paint will sit for approximately 4 days and then we will start the wet sanding and polishing process.

We had a big week this week! Three of our team wet sanded the entities of the car down in preparation for polishing. The entire car gets sanded down SIX TIMES by hand in order of 1000, 1200, 2000, 2500 & 3000 progressive grits. Very labour intensive but also necessary.

The entire car is now buffed in two stages of polishing. After all of the sanding and then polishing the results are a near mirror glass flat reflection and shine.

Parts have been painted & polished and installed.

This week the interior headliner was installed and the front and rear bumper assemblies. We're not starting to pull much of the car's electrical harnesses back into place. The rear glass was also installed as well as the freshly restored and polished window trim.

It's been a busy week, we've managed to get the windshield installed, dash wrapped in leather and much of the rear interiors carpet and panels installed. A lot of the electrical is getting close to finalized as well. The red leather and white headliner is a stunning contrast to the slate grey exterior.

The interior is nearly finished, just waiting on the seats. All the glass and operators are installed with the exception of one quarter window. The original brake calipers were also restored and ready for install.

The remainder of the front detail trims are now installed such as the grills and park lights. The fuel tank is assembled and installed along with much of its plumbing. The rebuilt original calipers and master cylinder were also installed.

The original seats now have their new leather upholstery installed. The rear seats are fully restored and installed as well. Smaller items like the original shifter and vent levelers have been refurbished. Correct set of 1964 steel wheels have been sourced, media blasted, repaired and painted to the correct shade of silver. Reproduction OE style tires have also been sourced. The engine compartments insulation and sound suppression matting has been completed and detailed.

This week we completed the interior seats were assembled and installed. Wipers & steering wheel were restored and installed. The rubber mats and toe boards were all installed as well.

This week we completely rebuilt the deck lid grilles and installed them along with the rear badges. Buttoned up a few electrical circuits as well.
